Welcome
Welcome to the Faison's Old Tavern Genealogy Project website. The site is a portal into the activities of a small group of amateur genealogy researchers who have ancestral roots and research interests centered at the Faison's Old Tavern community in Northampton County, North Carolina. To learn more about the research group and its members, see the About Us page.
This website is intended to function both as a working level data exchange repository for geographically separated contributing researchers and as a publically accessible showcase for their work. The genealogy data available here falls into two primary categories: (1) a collection of lineage linked family trees and (2) genealogy research supporting documentation, e.g. cemeteries and burials data, photo albums, property transaction maps relevant to the research described here, etc.
The lineage linked family trees are presented via the open source PhpGedView genealogy website application and are accessible via the Family Trees link on the navigation bar. Selecting the link presents a paged list of the available family trees, and selecting a list entry opens a portal to the selected dataset in a new PhpGedView window.
Note that due to privacy considerations, un-authenticated access to parts of the family tree datasets is restricted. If you have been granted a registered user account, you may log in at the PhpGedView portal. Otherwise, you are invited to peruse the publically accessible portion of the selected family tree via the available menu options. All of the remaining data available at this website (i.e. the cemeteries and burials, photo albums and property map datasets) is publically accessible.
If you have any family history information and/or research interests which you think might complement the work described here, please feel free to contact the site administrator at davistom@bellsouth.net.
